Care Instructions for Floribunda Roses

  • Floribunda Roses
  • Zones: 5-10
  • Shade requirements: Full sun to partial shade.
  • Bloom time: Late Spring to fall.
  • Soil requirements: Hummus-enriched, well-drained soil.

Floribunda roses were created by crossing hybrid tea roses and polyantha roses, to create a delightful combination of prolific blooms and gorgeous color varieties. By introducing Floribunda roses to your garden, you can be sure to have bountiful, beautiful blooms all season long!

Soil preparation:
Till to 12-15" and mix in hummus.

Planting:
Dig a hole about the same depth as the container in which the the roses are planted, and 18-24" wide. Remove the plant from the pot, and loosen the roots - if it appears to be thickly rootbound, score the root ball vertically, in three to four slices around the ball. Place the plant in the whole, fill with garden soil, and tamp down to remove any air bubbles. Water in thoroughly.

Continuous care:
Prune to maintain shape and increase branching once established. Remove any dead or damaged branches.
To maintain the look of the plants, remove dead canes in early spring and remove spent flowers throughout the growing season. Pruning does not only keeps the plant clean-looking, it encourages more blooms.

Roses prefer a thorough watering but do not like 'wet feet'. Water early in the day to avoid wet conditions into the night which can cause issues with fungus and disease.
