(Callicarpa 'Purple Pearls' PPAF) Clusters of rich pink flowers – prettiest of any Beautyberry! – color up the plant in summer, and by fall, they become big, beautiful lilac berries that are a boon for wildlife. In fact, over 12 different birds eat them, including Robins, Cardinals, Mockingbirds, Towhees and Northern Bobwhites. The upright and vigorous plant habit is a great improvement over the sprawling habit of most Callicarpa, and growing this plant is a cinch, with the main requirement being good drainage.
Zones 6-8, 4-5′ tall, 2-3′ wide, sun, 4″ pot.
