An ideal focal point planting. This exceptional hardy hibiscus, often called Rose of Sharon, provides at least three months of spectacular color. The branches are covered from midsummer to frost in 3-5" azure-blue flowers with red-purple throats. Easy-to-care-for shrub reaches a height of 6-8' tall with a similar spread. Hibiscus syriacus 'Blue Bird'

Hibiscus syriacus, also known as Rose of Sharon, is handy if you love the look of tropical flowers, but need something more reliable in a cold climate. Rose of Sharon is woody, and these hard stems won't die back in the winter, standing up to cold weather better. It's gorgeous architectural interest for a more formal landscape.
