These are pink, rather than red as in the picture. They are very floppy, growing sideways out of the bed, rather than upright, as shown. They grow well, but are not as expected.
Was expecting red flowers per description, but mine flowered pinkish! Still gave it five stars because it grew huge and bloomed in record time. This is a very impressive plant that deserves a place in every garden!
"I ordered these for the first time this year and they arrived looking like they just came from the florist down the street! About 10"" - 12"" tall when I received them, bushy and green. Planted them in the bed I had prepared and in 2 weeks I think they have grown about 2"". I am really looking forward to seeing them bloom! Thanks Spring Hill for the care you take!"
"IF this is the plant I have,(there was no name on the plant when I bought it) it is beautiful Bright red flowers. Mine has just begun to bloom. Hot dry winds took a toll on it during the summer months. I plan to place mine where it will have the right enviroment to reproduce. It has the longest lasting red blooms of any plant I've seen."
"We live in zone 3, which is a challenge for alot of plants. I have had the Keys of Heaven flowering bush since 2002. I admire it. The Red flowers are a traffic-stopper. People enjoy seeing flowers on an avenue, so I continually add flowers that compliment the gardens. I recently looked for another Keys of Heaven, and are currently unavailable. I saw the ""Jupiters Beard"", and will order it. Looks just like the Flowered bush we are taken to. Happy gardening!"
"I love this stuff! It naturalizes like crazy and provides wonderful color to my flower bed all season long -- with no maintenance whatsoever! I've given some to a friend who's loving it as much as I do. My yard gets full sun all day and hers is in the shade most of the time, and it just keeps growing and blooming."
I planted two of these last summer. I was amazed at how big and full they are this year with a tremendous amount of flowers. I cut the dead flowers and I still have a full bush!
"A few years ago, a friend was cleaning out her garden and gave me some clippings of this plant. This plant, once it catches on, grows out and up and the blossoms are beautiful. I have bought several more plants to complete other gardens. Clip off the dead blossoms and the plant will bloom all summer long and into the fall. Trust me, you will love this flowering plant."
