Cultivate dynamic Pink Muhly Grass for a blast of bright color, and these sensational perennial plants also add delightful feathery texture to gardens and yards. Known as Muhlenbergia capillaris, this dazzling grass grows to 3 feet tall and develops a strong-rooted 2 ½-foot spread. A hardy cotton candy pink grass, Pink Muhly Grass flourishes just about anywhere it's planted.

Expect airy plumes from Pink Muhly Grass during late summer when this rugged, tall grass seems to transform into delicately spun cotton candy. Pink Muhly Grass (Muhlenbergia capillaris) forms neat, tidy clumps of fine blue-green foliage in spring and then, during its 6 to 8 week flowering period, fluffy purplish-red inflorescence forms into silky panicles rising 18 inches. Sometimes called cotton candy pink grass, this pastel delight is a showstopping source of late season color, and is an ideal grass for garden spaces that receive generous amounts of sun. These tough perennial plants can tolerate heat, humidity, drought and very wet conditions.
