Turn your patio into an orchard with this cherry tree! We fell in love with this tart cherry and think you will too. Through a unique relationship with the University of Saskatchewan, we are excited to be the first to offer the compact Romeo Cherry Tree to gardeners in the United States. Just 6' tall and wide, it's ideal for those with small spaces or patios. And it's one of the best-tasting, sweetest tart cherries we've ever eaten. Its sugar level is almost 20 Brix – levels as high, if not higher, than some sweet cherries. In addition, the large, crimson fruit doesn't split, has a high flesh-to-pit ratio, and is self-fertile – no pollinator needed! In midsummer, you'll begin enjoying this tree's bountiful supply of cherries – 10 to 20 pounds per plant over a season! Imagine all the fresh cherries you'll eat or cook into pies or preserves. If that's not enough, the Romeo Pie Cherry tree puts on quite an ornamental show when it bears a cloud of white flowers each spring. Best in well-drained sandy loam, but is quite adaptable. Cannot ship to CA, CO, ID, OR, WA. Prunus 'Romeo'.
