Unique Characterstics: Quite an attention getting iris with its two-toned flower coloration. White standards edged with gold trim sits atop dramatic purple falls with attractive white veining at the shoulders. A Slovakian imported iris that has won several awards from the American Iris Society.
Flower Color: White standards, lightly shaded with orchid-lavender and edged with a fine gold rim. Grape-Purple falls washed with violet tones with distinct White veining at the hafts.
Flower Form: Typical iris-like with rounded ruffled petals.
Foliage Type: Green sword-like fans of foliage in clumps. Some die back in colder climates in winter.
Resistance: Good resistance to most pests and diseases, watch for borers.
Pruning: Cut foliage to 6" fan in fall. Clean up plant debris to prevent borers from overwintering.
Pruning Time: Late fall/early winter
Soil Requirement: Well drained soil is preferred. Quite tolerant of a wide range of soils.

Slovak Prince bloomed this year. I have two. They look exactly like the picture. Large blooms with a lovely ridging of the yellow. The blooms last a long time. I am very pleased as some flowers don't always look like the picture. This one did. I have photographed it in different natural lighting . Have fun
