Keeps out squirrels, but welcomes songbirds!
OCTOBER SPECIAL: Save $25 on orders of $50 or more!
Expires on: October 31, 2016

A simple but effective way to feed your birds while keeping squirrels out! Surrounded by a sturdy 1½″ grid of carbon steel (not even squirrels can eat steel!), the metal mesh tube allows good circulation to keep food fresh, while food and birds are protected from the weather by the wide, arching roof. Bottom tray catches falling seeds from the four feeding ports and has plenty of drainage holes to keep food dry. Easy to fill and clean — simply twist off the hanging hook and remove the top. 12″ H x 10¾″ W.

Not so good Review by Sabra Kuykendall - Northglenn, CO

At first we really liked this feeder. No, it is not squirrel proof, but I'm not sure what is. That is not my complaint. We have found this feeder on the ground at least three times, with our expensive bird seed all over (squirrel fest for sure). I think that the squirrels figured out once how to screw off the top ring and it fell. Another time I think it was due to the screw that holds the whole thing together being a little too short so it doesn't take much to just come undone and fall apart. I had to figure it out to refill it and it took two people, one person to hold the screw and bolt at the bottom and one to fill and replace the lid, or it will come undone at the bottom and there goes all your seed, and it holds a lot of seed. I'm going to try something else.

Does not avoid squirrels Review by texellence - austin, TX

This would be a great feed EXCEPT it has a tray on the bottom. The seed has small slots that allows it to come out onto the tray. This means that Mr. Squirrel hangs from the top of the feeder. and just extends his paws and pulls the seeds off the tray/ Completely ineffective.

Not completely squirrel proof Review by Bob - Cherry Hill, NJ

We must have squirrels that escaped from the circus. It may be only one squirrel. Can't tell. We don't have our squirrels tagged. However, there is not a lineup of squirrels at the bottom of the pole. Our squirrel hangs from the very top of the feeder, using his hind legs. He stretches his body all the way to the tray at the bottom of the feeder, and has a feast from the tray. If there is not enough food, he/she simply rocks the feeder so more seed falls from the four open compartments. I have solved the problem by wrapping a small chain around the last section of the cage. Chicken wire would also work. We now have a very frustrated squirrel. Perhaps a slight redesign would solve the problem.

Works for Small Birds Review by Diane Ledbetter - Jacksonville, FL

This is a very sturdy metal bird feeder, that works for small birds. The small squirrels can still get to the seeds on the bottom, and can go through the bird food in several days.

looks like the answer to stop feeding the squirrels in our Retirement Community

squirrel proof feeder Review by Amy StClair - Leyden, MA

This feeder does keep the squirrels out. Unfortunately the design of the feeder access holes is such that one-third of the seed is inaccessible to the birds and goes to waste. I would not buy this feeder again.
