    Product Description

An improved variety from the popular Dark Towers, Blackbeard makes a strong statement of dark and pale colors. Since this contrast is created through purples and pinks, it still strikes a pretty, elegant tone in the garden. You can get creative with where you plant this one to emphasize your palette. In a prairie or border planting, it adds depth among the lighter tones. You could also mass plant it for a dramatic display. It's a great choice for planting in multiples; as impressive as it is, it's also a really reliable plant. The strong stems won't lodge, so the flowers don't flop over and it's drought and salt tolerant. It's native to the US so it won't need to adapt to our climate. You can also rely on Blackbeard Penstemon for a long show, as lovely burgundy seed pods emerge after the flowers. Penstemon 'Blackbeard' PP30052
