Large fruit is firm with excellent, tangy/sweet flavor is excellent for freezing. High yielding variety. Its flowers in the spring, eye-catching fruit color, quality summer foliage, and yellow/orange, red and purple fall color make Nelson an ideal addition to your edible/ornamental landscape. Mature at 6 feet. Makes a great hedge. Winter hardy zones 5-8. Harvest early to mid-late season (In Southwestern Michigan beginning approximately August 1st, earlier in warmer zones)
