A classic peony with a colorful twist, Candy Cane Itoh Peony adds nostalgia and just the right amount of Americana to the garden. Itoh peonies are a cross between herbaceous and tree peonies, giving them outstanding strength and performance along with post-card pretty blooms. This large peony shows off cream-to-yellow petals with red-pink and lavender striping that reaches out from a strong center onto the petals. This candy-sweet peony is sure to delight from spring through summer, with complementing green foliage. Wonderful for the cutting garden and excellent in both borders and accent applications. - Planting Instructions: Dig a hole large enough to spread out roots without bending them. Set crown with buds 1-2" below ground-level. Water in thoroughly. Plant at least 6 weeks before ground freezes.
- Winter Care: None, except to mulch the first winter. Remove in early spring before growth starts.
