    Product Description

First grown in New Zealand in view of the towering Mt. Taranaki, the jewel-purple sepals of this clematis form a classic and coveted double form that make it a standout in the garden. Upright and almost double-flowered with a ruffled, pale yellow, pom pom-like center, they're remarkably long-lasting in the garden as well as vases and bouquets. As its free-flowering form grows, let the medium-to-large vine amble up a trellis or along a garden wall. When it's time to cut the flowers, add them to vases and bouquets for a darling pop of color. Belle of Taranaki is a recent addition to the market and one of our new favorites.

In our EZ Pruning Guide, this variety is in the YELLOW category. It blooms best on old wood. Use caution when pruning to retain healthy stems from last season for best flowering. See our EZ Pruning Guide for more information.
