Though this vining beauty climbs up to 10' tall, the relatively short internodes and closeness of the blooms make it a charming addition to sturdy pots and container gardens. Lovely 6" flowers of bubble–gum pink bear dark pink bars and appear either singly or in clusters of three on robust vines in early summer. Blooms again to brighten the area in late summer. This vine is hardy and floriferous, making it an ideal variety for creating a privacy screen. For the most vibrant color, consider a north– or east–facing wall. Flowers appear on new growth. Prune back in early spring. Prefers full sun, but a little shade is best in hot, sunny climates. Clematis
Carnaby Clematis is in the YELLOW pruning category. It blooms best on old wood, but it can also bloom on new wood. Use caution when pruning to retain healthy stems from last season for best flowering. See our Stoplight Pruning Guide for more information.
