Though this vining beauty climbs up to 10' tall, the relatively short internodes and closeness of the blooms make it a charming addition to sturdy pots and container gardens. Lovely 6" flowers of bubble-gum pink bear dark pink bars and appear either singly or in clusters of three on robust vines in early summer. A second flush of blooms brightens the area in late summer. Compact plants are hardy and floriferous, making them an ideal variety for creating a privacy screen. For the most vibrant color, consider a north- or east-facing wall. Flowers grow on new, current year's growth. Prune back in early spring. Prefers full sun, but a little shade is best in hot, sunny climates. Deer resistant. Clematis 'Carnaby'
For a garden display that's eye-catching and colorful with a decidedly exotic flair, look no further than clematis. Boasting a wide array of styles, forms and hues, this vining plant adds interest and texture, along with loads of bright, beautiful blooms, to fence lines, arbors, mailbox posts and other supportive structures. Whether you choose large-flowered or small-flowered, single or double varieties, clematis blossoms are striking in form and attention-grabbing in color. Plants are robust and hardy, with exceptional flower power and outstanding garden performance.
