Product Description

We've waited patiently to share this unique, double-flowering Clematis--and the wait is finally over. A brand-new Spring Hill exclusive bursting with strawberry-pink beauty, Strawberry Shortcake is set to take the pink Clematis market by storm. This distinctive beauty hails from Chicago, and brings all the hardiness and attitude you'd expect from the Windy City. Layers of fluffy pink petals feature wide, ice-cream colored splashes, and look beautiful in cut flower bouquets, corsages or boutonnieres. Plant Strawberry Shortcake in the front of the border or allow it to sprawl over shrubbery. A marvel in a container, too. A compact plant with medium flowers, Strawberry Shortcake has a winning ratio. If you love Piilu you'll be wild for our Strawberry Shortcake, which always blooms double for us even on the season's newest vines. This is a super-hardy Clematis, with delicious coloring that looks good enough to eat. Clematis 'Strawberry Shortcake'

In our EZ Pruning Guide, this variety is in the GREEN pruning category. These Clematis bloom on new vines that emerge from the ground each year.. Prune hard in the spring and as often as you like to encourage reblooming and keep the plant as tidy as you like.
