When the late-summer gardens give up their last blooms of the season, The Giant comes to call. This easy, carefree colchicum begins blooming in fall, usually in September, and continues producing its chalice-shaped, crocus-like flowers for weeks on end. Blooms are pinkish purple with splashes of white toward the center. They are carefree and easy to grow, needing only well-drained soil and regular watering. Makes a great choice for waterside plantings. Our garden pros like The Giant in borders, pots, wooded areas and rock gardens. It gives well-received color to areas that have been abandoned by the spring and summer plants, extending the blooming season well into the fall. Naturalizes well, returning in greater numbers year after year. Colchicum 'The Giant'
