Start peony season off with lightly fragrant, ruffled blooms with colors reminiscent of the setting sun. The petals range from a soft coral to intense coral with a rose overlay while the centers exhibit a fluff of golden yellow stamens. Lush, glossy green foliage provides a perfect backdrop for the blooms. In the spring, the foliage's new growth is burgundy and turns a soft yellow in the fall. Coral Sunset's flowers look outstanding in the garden and are equally impressive in cut floral arrangements. This peony is a good choice for incorporating into foundation plantings, creating a small hedge, lining a walkway or planting in mixed perennial flower beds. Like other peonies, it is long lasting.
