Product Description

A columnar magnolia, Daybreak fits neatly into the landscape—but still stands out as a stately, genteel focal point, growing to nearly 30 feet high with a spread of only about eight feet. A richer pink color and tall growth habit differentiate Daybreak from saucer-shaped soulangiana selections. And, this tree blooms later than other magnolia species, so it rarely suffers from springtime freezes. Not just a pretty face, this attractive magnolia will amaze with its performance. Daybreak is a vigorous bloomer with an extended bloom period. On a mature tree, Daybreak's flowers open to nearly eight inches in diameter. A "young" bloomer, this magnolia blooms in as little as five years.

Hybridized by Dr. August E. Kehr, a master of magnolias and a scientist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Daybreak has become a classic for its fragrant flowers and desirable habit. Magnolia 'Daybreak'
