    Product Description

This peony combines the best of both worlds. First, you have the stunning floral show peonies are known for. Huge double blooms are packed with satiny petals in a rich, luxurious shade of red. A lovely, strong perfume accompanies each bloom. The strong stems hold these flowers high in the garden, and straight in a vase for a commanding display in the home or garden. Then, even after the flowers have finished, glossy, deep green leaves make a beautiful backdrop for the rest of your garden flowers. It's long lasting, lush and dependable, so you can depend on this peony foliage as a consistent structure in your landscape. Peonies are practically zero maintenance and last a lifetime, so you can use it like a low hedge or along a perennial border. Paeonia lactiflora 'Double Red'
Peonies have few requirements: give them a sunny well-drained location, plant 2-4' apart, with the eyes (new buds at the crown) no more than 2" below soil level and apply fertilizer or compost in spring. They take a while to establish, often 3 years before the first bloom--but the wait is worth it. They are heirloom quality. Let them grow undisturbed and they will bring joy to you and your loved ones through the decades.
