Product Description

From the music of Elvis to classic clean-lined cars, some elements of mid-century America are staples for a reason. The Edward J. Gardener lilac is among those cultural phenomenon.

Named for its cultivator, a world renowned lilac breeder from Wisconsin, Edward J. Gardner took American gardens by storm in the 1950s, and is still considered the best double pink lilac available. Bold and blush-toned, these double flowers are beautiful in the garden or in cut arrangements, the perfect combination of delicate tones and statement-making form.

A tall but compact lilac, Edward J. Gardner reaches its mature height of up to ten feet after about a decade. Its upright, oval habit looks beautiful as it matures and after it reaches full size. A perfect choice for the back of the border or plantings around a home. Syringa vulgaris 'Edward J. Gardner'
