The boldly-textured, lance-shaped foliage remains attractive after flowering season, and will give your containers the "thriller" they demand. Flame Calla Lily adds a dramatic and bold hue to mixed borders, and a focal wherever a hot color is needed. The blossoms open yellow with a red edge, but as they mature you'll get a glowing red to orange flower that pairs particularly well with blues and purples. This cultivar of calla lily is compact, so it makes an excellent container plant, sending up multiple flowers as earlier flowers fade. It prefers rich garden soil in full sun or partial shade. Hardy in southern zones 8-10; in other zones 7 and north, treat it as an annual or a tender bulb.
