But stop to admire it in hot weather, and you'll catch Fragrant Star's lovely scent. This is a showy white flower with a beautiful texture, and it looks great in a patio pot or trailing up a trellis. A Clematis from the Vancouver series, it's a collector's favorite and often difficult to find in the US. Planting Instructions:YELLOW group vining clematis (potted, dormant or bareroot) should be planted 2-4" deeper than the current crown. This means you will plant roots,crown and come of the stem under the soil.
Winter Care:Apply a winter mulch around the base of the plant, especially in colder climates. Remove the mulch in early spring before growth starts.
Growth Rate:Fast, once established.
Flower Form:Large, single star-shaped blooms 6-8" across.
Foliage Type:Medium green, simple palmate to pinnate leaves arranged alternately and opposite on the stems.
