Product Description

Make your own "horseradish sauce" with this perennial. Plant in a sunny location in moist, well-drained, alkaline soil. In early summer, it produces star-shaped flowers in a raceme along the stem. After frost has killed the foliage in late fall, harvest the main root and replant the off shoots for next season's crop. The root is grated or ground to make a relish. Once it's grated, it must be used or mixed with vinegar because it becomes bitter if exposed to air and heat for an extended time period. Bareroot. Zones 3-9. Cochlearia armoracia Hybrid

Sun to Partial Shade
Deer tend to avoid.
