This coleus is handy for adding flair to a shady site. The beautiful variegated pattern and scalloped edges bring great texture into a mixed planting, spicing things up as a companion to coarser or finer foliage plants. Indian Summer Coleus is fast-growing. In frost free zones it's evergreen, while in cooler zones it will not overwinter and is often used as an annual. It's very popular in annual container gardens—which are perfect for providing a pop of interest you can switch up and play with every year. It's also really tolerant of city pollution, so you've probably seen it in containers around downtown businesses. Solenostemon scutellarioides 'Indian Summer'
