Product Description

A stately Weigela that holds its own against costlier, care-heavy species, Java Red is a versatile high performer. Trumpeting flowers in red, pale pink or white attract hummingbirds and butterflies in spring. Reddish green leaves emerge on a dense, multi-stemmed shrub, transitioning to a pleasing maroon that lasts throughout summer and fall. The compact form and reliable flowering of this shrub makes it perfect for hedges or borders. Java Red is even compact enough to work in a large container. Prune in spring for a more manicured look, or let this tidy weigela go without pruning for an informal garden. Weigela florida 'Java Red'
