Keep the season alive with this Japanese-bred aster that thrives late in the season. At 4 to 5 feet tall, Jindai is smaller than the species, making it a manageable size for borders and containers. Another benefit to its size? This aster won't require staking.
In fall, while other asters are fading, the showy one-inch flowers of Jindai open up in daisy-like form, providing bright color right up to the first freeze. Attractive, thin petals in pink and purple ring bright centers, providing much-appreciated foraging for fall pollinators and songbirds.
This East Asian species requires moist soil and, if given proper growing conditions, will naturalize over the years. Aster Tartaricus 'Jindai'
