Received a seedling early spring. Planted in a large pot until I could decide on permanent spot. It has grown to be almost 2 ft. tall in 1 and half months. It is in a very sunny spot at the moment, and appears to be a happy, healthy plant. I water when soil is dry, and it has taken off. I am pleased with this lilac thus far as it shows great promise. Thanks Springhill.

This is year 2 for mine and the bushes were loaded with flowers. I planted them in front of my window so when they are open the whole house smells like lilacs. I don't know how many time it will bloom but I'm very happy with them so far. I usually have terrible luck with mail order plants but I got lucky this time. Thanks

    Love this Lilac!

I planted this lilac last Spring (2012) and it bloomed (a small amount) that same year. It does grow fairly quickly too. This Spring, it has 3 times as many blooms and has grown quite a bit! I can't wait to see if it reblooms for me during the summer! Very happy customer! :-)

I bought one Josee Reblooming Lilac 4 seasons ago in a one cent sale. It was just a trig with no foliage and has grown like a weed. Miracle-Gro every couple of weeks doesn't hurt, I am sure. It's 4 feet high and gets trimmed about six inches a year. If you deadhead the spent blooms each time, it will rebloom. Mine blooms 3-4 times each season, depending on our fickle Ohio weather. You can't go wrong with this bush. Treat it kindly and it will reward you over and over.

    Fantastic!!

What a hardy plant! I've had two of these plants for 3 years and they are about 24-30 tall with continuous blooms!! In fact, I planted each of them in a large plastic pot and they've made it through some very cold and harsh winters without being covered. When I think they are not going to make it through the winter--I've been pleasantly surprised each time with full blooms :-) The branches are covered and the blooms are a little small because they have been living in 30 pots, but very fragrant. I think I may plant them in the ground this year to see if they reach their full growth! Highly Recommended!

I ordered three of these last spring and when they arrived they were pretty small, but one of them already had a flower! I planted them (loaded the soil with sphagnum moss first) in full, harsh sun along a retaining wall in my front yard and watered them like crazy for the first few weeks. They took off immediately and were already 2-3' tall (some branches even 4') by fall. They seem to have survived the winter quite well, as they are now loaded with buds. Can't wait to see how they develop this season!

I had one of these for about 4 years and it never got over 2 feet tall, bloomed a little. About the time I considered removing it, it took off and really began to grow. It was about 4 foot tall and loaded with blooms. This pink is amazing. I ended up having to move it because the neighbor wanted to put in a fence, and it never recovered. I am going to order another one.

    Great blooms

Bought 2 in 09, ran one over with a mower. The following year a friend weed-whacked it. In spite of all the abuse Josee came back very well and is almost as large as the other one! Will not bloom in the heat of summer, so from mid-June to August expect nothing. However it did have some nice blooms in Spring and a smaller flush in the fall of this year. Each year the blooms are bigger and better as the plant grows. This year I am expecting a nice show, and hope to have enough to bring them in the house to enjoy. I bought a 3rd last year, also got the weed whack by the friend who couldn't tell the difference between it and a weed. It bloomed in the fall as well, delightfully surprising me. I thought I would have to wait another year to see blooms on it like I did with the first 2. In Michigan, expect only Spring and Fall bloom.

    Wonderful plant!

I bought these about a month and a half ago and I'm thrilled. They came in tiny 3 pots and looked like a stick with some leaves. I replanted them into 8pots and they have tripled in size and even gave me a few lilac flowers. For the first time in over 20 years I was able to breath in the sweet fragrance of Lilacs...

I received 2 plants in Zone 6. I had to keep them inside for weeks, impatiently waiting for nights to be warm enough to get them started. Springhill advised at least 55 degree nights, for at least 2-3 days for them to get established. I had to water them in the house a few times, and was careful not to overwater. One I planted in a deep hole filled with perlite, the other I put in a pot, also filled with perlite, as a back-up plant, as I have a very tiny yard with only a small area of full sun. Both plants are doing fine. I will not be disappointed if they don't flower until next year; one must be realistic about plants and not expect miracles. The shrubs survived cooler nights once they had time to grow a healthy root system. I am very pleased. I think people don't follow the instructions carefully as far as planting, which is not the nursery's fault.

When I received the plants in the mail they were each a tiny stick. I was doubtful, but I planted them. They lived through last summer in Phoenix - a miracle in itself - and now they are about 12 high and two branches each and blooming! Unbelievable!! This is the only lilac that will grow here in the low desert.

I purchased five of these bushes five years ago now. they have all grown to their limit, and I get endless enjoyment out of them. they do bloom 3 - 4 times during the season, and make the perfect hedge to block the alley from sight and noise. these were the first permanent plants I ever invested in, and I've never been disappointed in them. I constantly get compliments from anyone who sees them.

This spring I bought 22 lilacs. The plants were small but very healthy, 5-8 tall. Every single one took off right after planting. Unfortunately, I've lost 3 to bunnies, but others are doing very well and most of them grew to 2-3' so far and blooming again, while it's September in Chicago! I cannot wait to enjoy them for the years to come. Thank you, Sprinhills!

Planted this last year at a new home in a drought. It lived which was amazing in itself. This is it's second year. It bloomed at 1 feet tall this spring. Currently mid-July it is blooming again! It has also grown another 2 feet taller. It is awesome and smells heavenly!! Wish I could afford 50 of them!

I love lilacs and ordered my Josee last year and planted it right away. I expected it to have to be a few feet tall to bloom, but it was less than ten inches tall when it bloomed, it's very first spring! I was amazed. I check it every day for new buds to show up. That smell is what Heaven will smell like.

I don't have personal experience with the Josee lilacs, but wanted to offer some advice for Ang in Michigan. I had problems with my regular lilacs not blooming and couldn't figure out why, until I realized the deer were nibbling the plants before they could bud. Putting some chicken wire or other barrier over the plant until they get tall enough should do the trick. My lilacs finally got tall enough - the buds survived and I now get the blooms. Hope this helps.

I ordered 2 of these and they were blooming the middle of the first year. I loved the lilacs in the east but our really dry hot weather concerned me, but they did just fine. They have out grown the pots I started them in so it's time to put them in larger containers. I have them in the shade and I can't wait to see what they do in the sun. Great Plant!

I purchased this variety of lilac for a focal point. My garden has two Josee lilacs and a another larger variety of lilac in white. They are planted in a triangular shape with the two Josee lilacs in front. Each spring it just gets better and better and the scent of lilac is wonderfull. I have a tendency to topiary the Josee lilacs--creating a rounded shape after the first bloom time. I prune them again in late fall. They don't seem to mind and it's a nice more formal touch to my garden.

I bought 1 plant three years ago. I wanted to see if it would really grow in zone 9 (I live in the desert). The first year it was just a twig. The second it exploded. I grew it in a pot so that I can move it onto the patio when the sun is intense. I didn't think a lilac would grow in the desert, but it grows well. I can smell the flowers through the window as I write this.

I love my Lilac Iฦve had it for about 10 years. It a very hardy plant it served when my roof was done and the roof dumped the entire roof over it. Every year I found new shoots around the yard. The roots creep under the dart and pop up feet and inches away from the original plant. Come the spring when it blooms the small it so nice I just wish that it bloomed all summer.

We received our Josee Lilacs in late fall. We planted them in 12 pots and left them on the deck all winter. They lived through temps. down to 10F, and lots of ice and snow. They have somehow grown about 2 since we have received them and they are now covered with leaves and showing signs of developing buds. I believe they will do well in our area. We are waiting to see the actual bloom color before planting them in the ground this fall, we have a friend that has these and hers are each different shade of lavender, one is more blue and one more pink.

I planted a small new plant last year and it looks good this spring, budding nicely and it doubled in height. I rate at 5 because I believe it will flower this spring, in it's first year! I will re-rate once I can determine if it actually blooms all summer long and if it survives the hot summer.
