  • Superb for cut-flower displays

Product Description

Itoh peonies are a cross between garden peonies and tree peonies. Large, unique, semi-double blooms explode with uncommon hues of apricot to copper color in late spring to early summer and are stunning in a cut-flower bouquet! The colorful foliage changes with the seasons for extended interest from spring through fall. New growth starts dark green with purplish shading, turning gray-green to green in summer, and finishing in fall with hues of bright orange and red. More beautiful every year…they live a lifetime! Zones 3-8. Deer tend to avoid. Paeonia x 'Kopper Kettle'

Peonies have few requirements: give them a sunny well-drained location, plant 2-4' apart, with the eyes (new buds at the crown) no more than 2" below soil level and apply fertilizer or compost in spring. They take a while to establish, often 3 years before the first bloom--but the wait is worth it. They are heirloom quality. Let them grow undisturbed and they will bring joy to you and your loved ones through the decades.
