This hardy, deciduous azalea is covered with bright mandarin orange trumpet-shaped blooms in early spring before the foliage emerges. Its small, mounding form is excellent for massing in shrub borders. Provide regular watering in extreme heat and apply an acidic fertilizer after blooming and you'll be rewarded with spectacular spring color each year. Prefers filtered sunlight. Grows 4-5' tall and 3-4' wide. Zones 3-7. Rhododendron 'Mandarin Lights'
I bought one of these orange azaleas and was amazed at how beautiful it was. I have so many people stopping at my house wanting to know what it is and where can they get one. I now have 4 of them. People now stop to take pictures. Now I'm buying more.
