Delphiniums have such a great look—those tall columns of flowers in coveted cool tones. But you need to have the room for it or that towering color can be overwhelming. That's where Mini Stars comes in. It's a truly dwarf delphinium from the New Millennium Hybrids series, which boasts longer bloom times and more compact habits than traditional delphiniums. As it turns out, a compact habit and delphiniums are a match made in hybrid heaven. Mini Stars has all the personality of a classic, just on a shorter scale for an easier time fitting it into your garden. The other bonus to its 2.5' height, is that it won't need staking. Especially if your garden gets windy, those big delphiniums can sometimes topple, but these shorter stems stand strong. Mini Stars makes a pretty display in a container or the front or middle of a border. It's also suited to classic delphinium locales, like mass plantings or woodland gardens.
