A Japanese maple with intense dark coloring, Purple Ghost Japanese Maple is a must-have for any Asian-style or contemporary garden. Just imagine this beauty reflected in a pool or pond, or gleaming in deep tones in a woodland garden. Intense color appears on lightly-ruffled foliage, with black veining visible on red-purple leaves. That deep color lasts throughout the season, then the leaves turn to a bright red-orange before dropping in autumn. Purple Ghost can tolerate sun to part shade but will provide the best color in full sun. A slow growing variety with a maximum height of 15 feet, this is an incredible garden tree.
