Mums from garden centers are lovely for late-season color, but as a plant bred for one good show, that's all you're going to get. We partnered with the University of Minnesota to produce a line of truly perennial mums. As long as you plant in spring so they have time to establish, these will withstand temperatures down to -30°F and come back bigger and better each year. In the first fall, you'll enjoy a light spread of vibrant blooms on cushion-shaped plants. They will continue growing into that even, domelike shape you'd have to pinch, prune and deadhead traditional mums to get. In following years, there will be hundreds of blooms completely blanketing each massive 5' plant.
