Product Description
The brilliant child of Edith Wolford X Breakers, the Stairway to Heaven Iris is a vigorous variety, with strong, tall stems and plentiful buds to climb up towards the sky. Its coloring is also celestial — fluffy white standards float above the rolling ruffles of the light blue falls.

- Hardiness Zone: 4-9
- Flowering Date: Early to mid spring
- Planting Instructions: In clay soil, rhizomes should be slightly exposed. In sandy soil, should be covered 1-2". Vigorous grower requires generous feeding if soil is not fertile. At least 5 hours of sunlight each day.
- Winter Care: Mulch in colder climates. Remove in spring before new growth starts.

- Flower Form: Classic iris form. Larged and ruffled.
- Foliage Type: Glaucous green, sword-like fans of stiff upright leaves.
- Pruning: Remove spent flower stems after blooming. In late fall, cut back foliage to 6" fans. Clean plant debris before winter to prevent borers overwintering. After flowering and late fall to early winter.
- Soil Requirement: Well-drained soil. Quite tolerant of a wide range of soils.
- Additional Information: Iris benefit from digging up and dividing every 3-4 years. This will help the health of the iris and promote strong blooming.
