French hybridizer Bernard Travers created the Success® Clematis series for trendy Parisian gardens. In patio containers and window boxes, these varieties create full, "finished" looking displays because they don't leave any bare spots towards the bottom of the plant. They bloom from top to bottom, almost continually through summer. The compact, tidy habit is also very handy for container gardening. Lavender is a beautiful variety, with soft pastel color that's really refreshing in summer. It'll exhibit a long bloom season too, especially if you deadhead the faded flowers. The display you can create is not only beautiful, but it'll be very unique, even alongside other gardens with clematis growing, as this is the first time Success® Lavender Clematis is available in the U.S.A.
