Improved version of native shrub offers incredible red, magnolia-like flowers that rebloom for several weeks. A deciduous shrub, it has lustrous, dark green, glossy foliage that turns golden yellow in the fall. Its flowers have a sweet, apple-like fragrance. Deer tend to avoid.
