A splash of red is always welcome in the winter landscape, and Variegated Red Twig Dogwood delivers this much-needed winter color as well as showy variegated leaves during the growing season. A fast-growing, low-maintenance, deciduous shrub, it grows 6-9 ft. tall with an upright, spreading habit. Plant several in a row along walkways or property lines to create a colorful hedge—or plant in groups for erosion control. Variegated Red Twig Dogwood also makes a showy specimen plant. While birds love this shrub, deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Grows best when planted in partial shade or shade. Zones 2-8.
