  • Useful in cut and dried bouquets
We've found this Veitch's Blue has better blue tones than any other globe thistle's we have seen. This is a more unusual color palette for the garden and it creates a cool, refreshing contrast among other perennials. This is a go-to for many coastal gardeners. It'll adapt to all their tough seaside soil—salty, dry and sandy is no problem. It also grows to a more moderate height than most globe thistles, so it'll fit in more areas in the garden. It's drought tolerant and about the only soil it won't tolerate is overly wet soil. Non-draining is not an option here. In the garden, pollinators will be pleased and deer will leave it alone. Indoors, it'll make a creative addition to cut- and dried-flower arrangements. Echinops ritro 'Veitch's Blue'
