Product Description

Commonly called Black Chokeberry, Aronia Berry is so named for the tart taste of its fruit. While a fresh handful of chokeberries may not be the best idea, these black, juicy berries are delectable in tasty jams and jellies—and the shrubs that bear them are a delight year-round.

Aronia berry shrubs feature a large but bushy habit and oval, glossy green leaves with finely toothed margins. In spring, you'll enjoy flower corymbs of white tinged with pink atop this delightful bush, and, in fall, the leaves shift to an appealing purple-red. Throughout summer, the near-black Aronia berries attract many beloved birds, including robins, jays, grosbeaks, thrushes, and woodpeckers. This North American native can thrive in a multitude of environments, including damp areas, such as along ponds or streams and rain gardens.. Aronia melanocarpa.
