Wu-La-La Hosta

If you love hostas, you know about Empress Wu. Actually, even if you've only ever seen hostas around the neighborhood, you've likely seen Empress Wu. It's a massively popular variety because its leaves are huge and fill out a tricky shaded space with ease. So we were very excited to find Wu–La–La, a sport of Empress Wu with the same giant leaves and an extraordinary bicolor to boot. Wu–La–La grows to around 3–4' tall, and sprawls out to about 5–6' for a nice spread along a fence line, under a tree or as foundation plant. Often, those places are too shaded to grow anything well, but hostas benefit from a little shade, and Wu–La–La will reward you with especially vibrant leaves to brighten up the spot. It's easy to grow, and the early to midsummer purple flower scapes draw plenty of pollinators to your garden. Hosta 'Wu–La–La' PP31309
