Reminiscent of lemon meringue, this iris adds zest to any garden, bed or border. Romantically frilly standards are very upright, allowing the orange beards to pop against the falls.   • Planting Instructions: Plant the rhizomes shallowly so top half of rhizome is exposed.
  • Winter Care: Mulch in colder climates and remove in early spring before growth starts.

  • Growth Rate: Fast once established, which takes approximately 6-8 weeks.
  • Shipping Season: Fall
  • Flower Color: Yellow, White, Mixed
  • Flower Form: 4.5" laced flowers are fan-shaped, with three drooping petals called falls and three upright petals called standards.
  • Foliage Type: Glaucous-green, sword-like fans of stiff upright leaves with some dying back in colder climates in winter.
  • Resistance: Deer Resistant
  • Pruning: Cut foliage back to a 6" fan. Clean plant debris before winter to prevent borers from over wintering.
  • Soil Requirement: Well drained preferred. Quite tolerant of a wide range of soils.
  • Watering Requirement: Water immediately after planting. For the first year, water regularly without oversaturating the bulbs. Second year on, water only during hot and dry seasons.
